Introduction
An ongoing topic for debate is how to create, implement, and enforce regulations for information services, more specifically…the internet. The Federal Communication Commission (FCC) is the Government appointed regulating body that would be responsible for completing the aforementioned task. The reason there is virtually no regulation of the internet is because there is virtually no legislation concerning the service. However, there is legislation acknowledging the internet and the need to promote its development and availability to the public. The internet is typically made available to the public via telecommunications providers in the form of an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
