Fairmart
Superstore
Project
Proposal
Fairmart
Superstore
(FS)
presently
relies
on
a
basic
database,
and
inventory
as
well
as
employees’
working
hours
are
tracked
and
handled
manually
on
an
ad-‐hoc
basis,
based
on
managers’
experience. Our
project
aims
to
help
neighborhood
convenience
stores
to
make
informed
decisions,
reduce
manual
efforts
when
handling
internal
administraDve
maEers,
to
maximize
the
use
of
resources
to
increase
profits.
Problems:
Presently,
the
monthly
roster
is
done
up
manually
by
the
manager
on
a
monthly
basis.
If
any
employees
are
unable
to
meet
their
allocated
shiL,
they
will
inform
the
manager
who
will
have
to
reshuffle
the
roster
manually. AddiDonally,
wages
are
calculated
manually
by
an
administraDve
staff
at
the
end
of
each
month,
using
Dme-‐sheets
compiled
from
the
staff. The
minimart
presently
breaks
down
sales
into
categories
(e.g.
Beverages,
Chocolates,
Sweets,
etc),
and
summarizes
the
day’s
sales
at
the
end
of
each
day.
As
such,
sales
cannot
be
tracked,
and
managers
are
unable
to
determine
which
goods
are
contribuDng
to
the
minimart’s
profits,
as
well
as
how
much
goods
to
restock
from
Dme-‐to-‐Dme. Goods
are
restocked
on
an
irregular
basis
based
on
managers’
surveying
of
