Key of Success

There is a quote from Colin Powell which states exactly how essential hard work is: “A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” Success is the accomplishment of what a person desires. We can not just sit back and expect our hopes and dreams of success to become reality. Instead, we have to work hard for it. While success is the goal of many people, the way to achieve it is perceived differently among people. To me, hard word plays the major role in one’s success, and I would say it is the only element that keeps a success constant.

First, luck comes from hard work. In this world, everything is practical and real. There are steps to reach the goal, which require experiences and knowledge, that are not coming from luck. No one can gain anything without making a great effort. An example is that Bryant Quan from the article :” Bryan Quan, Slickdeal CEO” - the CEO of www.Slickdeals.net, which is a website I visit daily, is the convincingly hard working figure. Quan joined the company as its second employee during his freshman year in college. In the beginning, he offered his web design services for free to start off the job. He was in school for both Management Information Systems and his MBA at the same time. He said: “There were still a number of things that I had to learn the hard way after joining Slickdeals.” Within a handful of years later, he worked his way up to be the current CEO of the company.

Luck is nothing but a coincidence which cannot bring success all the time. In lottery, luck is the main element to allow one person to be the winner. However, it is an uncertain win. Luck is not guaranteed because luck is based on chances that are slim. If anyone ever came across the article titled “Tickets to nowhere,” he would understand what a person who only waits for luck is going to lose.
