For this weeks paper we were asked to evaluate the self assessment and what are leadership style is. We are then to presume that the organization we are currently working for is expanding and restructuring their organization and we are to decide what position we would best fit into. First I will explain the expansion process. I will then address what leadership style I fall under and the participation of that style within the organization and at work, followed by the pro and cons of the style. I will then give examples of the leadership style. And finish with what position I would best fit into followed with a conclusion.

By taking several assessments, it made me aware of my leadership style. Based on the results from the assessment, I am a people oriented leader opposed to a task oriented leader. To be a successful leader, I should be able to connect and understand the emotional needs and behavior of individuals within the team. By doing this, I will be able to encourage and create a friendly environment for individuals to complete assigned tasks. This is similar to Hersey’s and Blanchard’s Situational Theory (Robin & Judge, 2007). Also known as situational leadership theory (SLT), it’s a contingency theory that focuses on the followers. According to Robin & Judge (2007), the emphasis on the followers in leadership effectiveness reflects the reality that it is the followers who accept or reject the leader.
