Due to rapid technological development and its benefits and contributions to organizations, public offices around the world are adopting e-Government systems as part of their government restructuring initiatives. Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, developed its e-Government system for this very reason. In 2005, Abu Dhabi launched the local government’s e-Government strategy with the objectives of increasing the efficiency of government services through modernization and solving problems and challenges through the integration of Information Technology (IT) instrument to government solutions. The objective of the research is to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, achievements, and problems of Abu Dhabi’s e-Government. The evaluation process was conducted by reviewing Abu Dhabi’s e-Government and government restructuring initiatives thoroughly and applying the Business Performance Management Cycle to evaluate the e-Government’s IT model. Information gleaned from the Abu Dhabi government identified the resolutions and components of the government’s business process management strategies and IT model. The results of the evaluation revealed that Abu Dhabi has clearly defined goals and objectives concerning the government’s e-Government initiative and that it implements adequate strategies and plans to achieve its aims. The Abu Dhabi government remains active and responsive in improving its e-Government system through the efforts of ADSIC in constantly evaluating performance and collaborating with technology and service providers. However, Abu Dhabi’s e-Government is still in its infancy because the government is still in the process of developing and implementing other service functions to the e-Government system and IT model.
