Major Issues and Possible Causes:

After the buyout of JoPek by Jo and Peter, it was acknowledged that a series of management issues prevailed in its current set up, which was the cause for its mismanagement and complete failure. After a complete analysis of the entire working environment and previous track records the HR consultants were able to list out two major issues and its possible causes;

1. The first issue was JoPek’s recruitment process, which was a complete disaster as there were no well-defined recruitment policies or guidelines and the practices that were actually complied with have no uniformity in selection criteria or interviewing process.

2. The second major issue identified was that the culture was entirely competitive with focus on individual self, however the retail sector is always said to be successful under tem-based working environment. There was hostility among sale assistants against one another and no one was available to support another in time of need.

The result of both of these major issues were in terms of increased turnover, bad market reputation amongst retail sector employees, lack of customer satisfaction and even low customer loyalty.

Current Requirements:

Complete management uplift is required so as to bring the company in accordance with the vision of Jo and Peter, which is of providing expert services, value and products to the sporting community. The current HR need is to devise a number of new centralized management policies so that there is uniformity and compliance of the new policies across the board.
