For this week’s paper I will use my personal experience of owning a time share in RCI Resorts. As a member of RCI one is afforded the opportunity of taking a vacation in many different places within the United States and throughout the world. RCI allows members to book vacation based on types that include everything from casino/gaming, to health spas, and skiing (RCI, LLC, 2010). This allows members to book vacation anywhere in the world based on the location or type of activity there looking for.

One of the member benefits includes the RCI Points System, which is known as the world’s largest point-based exchanged systems that gives one an extended range of planning choices. The point’s system allow a member to book and RCI exchange vacation, simply by exchanging one’s points for a vacation at another resort that is affiliated with the RCI Points System. One of the benefits to being an RCI point’s member is that one has the flexibility of selecting from thousands of resorts throughout the world, and one can choose their type of accommodations as well as determine the length of his/her stay. Plus point member could use a part or portion of his/her annual points to receive discounts on a wide range of products and services from airline tickets, hotel stays, rental cars, and theme parks (RCI, LLC, 2010). With this information one can see the role market equilibrium, supply, and demand had in my experience. Before the economy soured I had to take a pay cut and furlough days I had the money to afford me the luxury of taking a vacation throughout the year. This gave me the opportunity to manage my time off and use fewer points to make my accommodations.

Another issue would be the ability of being able to purchase other products and services which include airline ticket, which have gone up in price because of the rising cost of oil and the fact that the airlines have cut back on certain flights.
