The case is a decision-based method that helps the participants to learn and teach others. A case is a description of a real problem which is faced by a person in an organization. The opportunity to identify problems and then solving them helps the leaders to become professional in their work field. The Harvard business school innovated case studies method in business education. In 1910, Dr. Copeland advised dean gay to start student discussion instead of lectures. In 1909 to 1919 students were presented with a problem and were asked to find solutions. The case method has different meaning to different people. Learning with cases consists of three stages process i-e individual, small and large group discussion. Cases are field based. Cases are released when the official give permission to use the case for organizational purposes. The content of cases varies with educational purposes. Cases give opportunity to the students to learn and teach others as well. It a kind of on the job training. It gives chances to gain experiences and how to tackle with the problems responsibilities. Cases help in learning the theories and how to apply them practically. It helps the students to make decisions in the limited available information. Cases help in developing ones confidence and ability, to work independently. It develops inventories of skills like quantitative, analytical, decision making skills, creative skills. It enhances oral and communication skills as well. Cases can be relevant if they are set in the environment where students are working and living.
