1. Discuss the extent to which an understanding of learning theory is fundamental to

successful training.

The understanding of learning theory is undoubtedly an important element of the successful training. However, training cannot be successful unless theories are applied to practical situations. In the above text a range of arguments will be reported in order to allege the above thesis.

2. Main Body

1st argument: Even if a theory is perfectly imprinted by words cannot replace its practical implementation. Even when a theory can successfully describe and explain a phenomenon, several practical points may be omitted. The implementation attempt can assure the omitted parts will be perceived. Thus learners will be able to perceive the theory more effectively and memorize it more easily. Practical implementation involves experience and as a result can enhance the successfulness of the training program.

2nd argument: On the other hand, a totally practical oriented training cannot provide the trainees with the requested theoretical background a learning subject requests.. Many learners will find difficulties in expressing their practical experience effectively if a theoretical study hasn’t precede.

3rd argument: The connection between theory and practice is the key to knowledge. The acquirement of a theoretical background along with an extended implementation of the theories can offer a multilateral knowledge of the subject.

4th argument: An effective training has to contain a blend of practicality and theory. It’s not surprising that in most formal education programs the development of theory in practice is almost always requested.

Conclusion

Theoretical background along with the practical implementation can contribute to the consummate adoption of knowledge.
