It is official, InterClean has acquired EnviroTech. We want to make the transition as smooth as possible. This means we will need the help of all our frontline leaders in keeping morale and productivity up. During this time of change your employees will look to you to see how they should react. Therefore, the manager’s behavior is important and can affect the productivity of employees.

Managing people is the most critical role for every manager. You must be concerned with staffing, retention, development, adjustments, and managing change (Cascio, 2005). As we look to the future, and our two companies join and make one, we want to make this transition as smooth as possible for all involved. We will be looking at our staffing needs. Assessing to see if we have the key associates needed to full fill our vision of becoming a full service solutions package (University of Phoenix, 2005). We want to develop our sales team into becoming a solutions-based selling team (University of Phoenix, 2005).

As we focus on transforming our company’s vision we will have to get our teams on board. We need to make every employee feel a part of the team, encouraging each associate to help us in this change. Encourage each associate so that he or she feels a part of the company’s transition. In order for the workplace to be effective and productive there are some key actions needed from the management team.

First, we need to respect our team and know that they will be going through some uncertainty because of the on-boarding of the new team members. Please keep the lines of communication open. Encourage each associate to share their feelings and to share his or her ideas. We do not have to enact everything they recommend but make sure that each person knows that his or her opinions matter.
