Ethical Style

Upon taking a survey to see what my ethical style was, I answer some very tough questions. Before I go any deeper in this discussion, I don’t agree with this test and don’t think it is accurate at all, however my score show I had a higher justice side than caring. That doesn’t sit all too well with me, because I have feelings about situations, and I believe on doing what is right. I neutral when it comes to the two, just depending on the situations.

To begin with, my ethic of justice was very high. I don’t disagree with the scores that I received after taking the quiz, however, I need to make it clear that I am in the middle. To me this is a great way to be fair. It also seems to be very black and white. Either you are right, or wrong. This is why I say I am neutral because you can’t treat every situation in life by the book. Every situation is different. I feel that as a man, this type of style would relate to me more because I have less of an emotional side than a woman, but that wouldn’t necessarily cancel my emotions to a particular subject. As I leader, however, I see myself using this kind of style, just so people know there are set foundations that need to be followed, as well as consequences if guidelines are not met.

Furthermore, I said I was neutral because you have to care about things. Like I mentioned, you can’t follow life by the book. The book doesn’t have what, if, ands, or buts. Every situation as a leader you are in must be taken with care. A successful leader knows how to show emotions, but that let it be a weakness. If you a hard down, unfair, just go by the book type of person, nobody will like you. Yes everything might get done if you are having a high ethics of justice, but that will sort of steer the people who look up to you away. As a leader you have to realize everyone is different.
