Human trafficking is defined as the illegal recruitment, transportation, harboring as well as receipt of persons by forcible means employing threats. It as well involves reception of payments for the purposes of exploitation in order to achieve the consent of a person having a control over another. As opposed to smuggling, human trafficking is a human rights violation and a war crime based on the context of armed conflict thus classified under “crimes against humanity.” Logically human trafficking is an ‘under carpet hidden human slavery.’

Not even a single country can claim that its borders are free from some way of human trafficking with United States not being an exception has a large number of individuals being trafficked across its boarders every year. Based on the class of international organized crimes human trafficking fits in the second position after drug smuggling and has proved to be a multibillionaire business. In other words due to present world free from geographic limitations human trafficking has continued to thrive and it is the equivalent of age phased slavery and it is based on vulnerability as opposed to color and race.

The lack of awareness of the possibility of human trafficking has been caused by low level of economic, education and psychological well being with the relevant parties bitterly paying for the issue due to the limited attention. Attention on what the term “human trafficking” means should thus be given emphasis to prevent further occurrences of the hineous act. Internally displaces persons as well as refuges are at a greater risk of being trafficked .The fact that refugees may fail in their struggle to access countries of asylum may make them desperate in their search for a safe country thus becoming victims of human trafficking .
