Our U.S. based company is seeking to market our medical technology equipment in a foreign country. In order to do this successfully we must first decide which country we would like to market our product and research their customs and protocols to ensure this venture will be profitable. After researching several countries, our company has decided to market our product in Australia.

During the research process we have determined that Australia has been proven to be an appealing and profitable market for American companies as there are very few barriers, such as no need to have a long standing relationship with the U.S. in order to do business in this country. Australia’s business infrastructure is well developed with resources in place to help the U.S. do business in their geographical area. They offer services such as background checks on Australian companies, due diligence, market research, and promotion of U.S. products and services at their trade shows.

Australia is the eighth-largest export market for U.S. manufacturers of medical technology with a demand to purchase a wide range of sophisticated medical equipment. Australians expect a high level of medical treatment so there is always a need for state-of-the-art, high quality products. Although English is the primary language used in Australia they have a very colorful vocabulary, accent, and slang terms that can take some getting accustomed to. They are very down to earth people and do not think they are better than anyone else.
