1. Introduction

1.1 Purpose

The purpose of this report is to evaluate the suitability of the solar panels for schools in Victoria of Energy Matters.

1.2 Background

The solar energy industry is still a new and big industry which starts to explore the market for merely 30 years and is growing at 40% every year (Mirel, 2010). According to a report from Navigant Consulting, 2004 through 2008 saw the solar panels are experiencing demand soared by a compound annual 51% for the four-year period, and industry growth at 79% in 2008 over 2007. The solar energy generation has increased by 2333% in 2008 since 2001 (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2010). Due to the recently fast growing pace and potentiality of the industry in Australia, investors are becoming more interested in the industry and it is estimated that the industry is going to expand in coming years.

1.3 Scope

This report will focus on the solar panel market of recent years in Australia, especially Victoria. However, it will also include relevant information from other countries, which may help evaluating the market.

1.4 Methodology

News, reports, researches and figures will help the evaluation process of this report. Personal observation is also included in conducting this report.

1.5 Assumption
