Introduction
For our coursework we decided to look into a small company that is based here in London so that we could potentially have a closer look at the business and its Human Resources management practices.
Gary Anderson is a retail outlet located in Savile Row, a shopping street located in the Mayfair area in central London. It is famous for its traditional men’s bespoke tailoring and it is said that the term “bespoke” originated in Savile Row. This small street is also known as the golden mile of tailoring, where customers have included Winston Churchill and Napoleon the 3rd. Nowadays members of various royal families from around the world go there as well as various actors, footballers and other famous figures. Furthermore, also the uniform that Prince William wore on his wedding was made in Savile Row.
GA was established over 25 years ago. It started with a small shop in the City of London and eventually moved to Savile row in the 90’s and it has been there since. It sells bespoke suits, shoes and accessories for men.
Gary Anderson also has its representatives in cities like Moscow, Dubai, New York and Tokyo, where it provides services to its VIP clients.
Human Resources Management Practices
We then looked at the strengths of various Human Resources Management practices used at GA and their link to the image of the most desired employer.
