Good evening and welcome to Organizational Behavior today. I’m your host, Rock Gibraltar. Tonight, we explore an age-old conundrum: Does money buy happiness, or, said another way, does more money lead to more happiness? As organizations look to better manage human capital, a key consideration is the motivational drivers of the individual. How does this affect what potential employees are looking for from a company? How will companies make changes, if at all, to the way they address the motivational needs of their staff? Conversely, is the Notorious B.I.G. lyric true, does ‘mo’ money mean mo’ problems? We conducted several interviews to get closer to the truth so that you, the viewer could make up your mind on this core motivational topic so relevant to organizational behavior today. 1. Tell me about yourself and your income.

My name is Natasha Kapoor. I work as a director in a telecommunication company. I have worked in this field for the past 15 years. My annual gross income is $150,000. I have 2 children with one of them going to college. My 2nd child too will be heading over in another year.

2. What motivates you?

Having the autonomy to manage my staff the way I want to. I like having the responsibilities of my current job. My job is challenging because of a lot of red tape. Also due to a recent reorg in my company the levels of supervision are not clear. It has still not been established who I need to report to and there are two people I currently answer...
