The eight SUNSHINE Fast Food Shops are all located in prime commercial and industrial areas of Hong Kong. Take away business is particularly good during lunch hours. Lines of customers stretch out to the street and the 10-12 employees in each shop have to work with full gear during those hours.

The best selling items of the shop are the wide range of mini-pizzas specially designed for one person. In fact, mini-pizza has become the most recognized of the shop's menu items shortly after the establishment of the shop.

SUNSHINE is very concerned about the commitment to customers. It pledges to serve the customers with the food ordered within three minutes of the order. For this reason, the management places special emphasis on the layout of the shop and the functioning of the equipment. Detailed motion studies have been conducted for the development and refinement of the operation system. The management has also developed a precise manual specifying cooking methods and standards.

To live up to the shop's name, SUNSHINE employees have to wear clean uniform and a smiling face at work. They are dedicated to giving the customers a feeling of "bathing in the sun".

Sales of the shop have been increasing every year for the first five years of its establishment, until last year. During last year, sales slipped 15% while absenteeism and labour turnover increased steadily. The management has been trying hard to figure out what has gone wrong. It has been suggested that the mini-pizza fad is gone while spaghetti, another major menu item of the shop, is far from popular in Hong Kong. It has become increasingly difficult for the shop to compete with major competitors like McDonald's, Kentucky, Café de Coral and Maxim's. It has also been suggested that the wages in the fast food industry are too low to attract and retain good employees.
