Introduction

Nestle is a Swiss company which founded in 1866 by Henri Nestle. Henri Nestle developed the world’s first milk food for infants in 1867 in his efforts to save the life of a neighbor’s child, a premature infant who was unable to tolerate his mother’s milk or any of the usual substitutes. His ultimate goal was try to fight with the problem of infant mortality due to malnutrition. This new product, Farine Lactée Nestlé, saved the life of an infant who could not be breastfed. Soon, people began to recognise the value of this product and it was marketed in much of Europe.

Moreover, Henri Nestle adopted his own coat of arms as a trademark in 1867 also. Henri Nestlé endowed his company with the symbol derived from his name. His family coat of arms, the nest with a mother bird protecting her young, became the Company's logo and a symbol of the Company's care and attitude to life-long nutrition. The Nestle nest represents the nourishment, security and sense of family that are so essential to life. These attributes are still the guiding legacy for the company Henri Nestle founded as it fulfills its commitment to 'Good Food, Good Life.'

Nestle (Malaysia), a part of Nestle Group, it established in the year of 1912 in Malaysia as Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. Nestle is engaged in the manufacturing, marketing and sale of food, confectionery and dairy products in Malaysia. The company is headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, and employs around 5,000 people. Nestle specialized in foods and beverages industry, a few of the many well-known brands Nestle has in Malaysia includes Maggi, Nescafe, Milo, Kit Kat, Nesvita(formerly known as Nestum), as well as pet care products such as Purina and Friskies.

Nestle has focused its Creating Shared Value (CSV) efforts and investments on three areas which are nutrition, water and rural development as these are core to our business activities and vital for Nestle value chain.
