I had an excellent question posed to me regarding the second assignment, with an important company update included as follows:

Since this information will impact your analysis post case date, I would strongly recommend you consider inclusion of case data and information up until and immediately before this date and or outcome for the firm. It is very likely there will be some cross over, however for this case study, let's keep it logical and work on the idea that we are predominantly working on the case information/data and some external sources before this announcement in late april.

Wishing you well with your preparation and looking forward to some quality work coming through. A kind note to also mention for a small collection of Australia Distance students there may be a small delay in turning your marks around for the first paper, only because we have had a late staff change (unavoidable, apologies to those affected). This will not affect many, however I would suggest we will have the vast bulk of papers turned around within the next 4 days.

On a final note, I will set up an elluminate session on or around week 9, depending on access to communications. Kindly note, I am working in Asia this week and will be available on campus from the 12th of July. In the meantime, keep your emails coming through.

Kind regards, Ben

Ben

An announcement was made 12 January 2010 about Heineken’s intention to purchase FEMSA. See the Australian Food News, link below, that says ‘Approval likely’.
