Everybody likes to be heard

Many often think that why is it that people don’t listen to what they say even if they are right.

I would say “Its not just about talking sense, its about making others believe that you actually are”.

Its all about human behavior. Everyone likes to be heard. If you contradict someone and then put your point forward, they are going to do the same thing to you or perhaps, just ignore your point. Just try being on the receiving end once. How would you feel if you are making a point and you hear ‘ No, that’s not how it should be done’?

‘NO’ is actually just a two-letter word, but its effect is way too big. It can put off anyone in seconds.

Is it that hard to just agree with something for while, even if you think its crap?

Why do people have to go the harsh way of correcting someone ‘at that very moment’? why cant they just let the person speak his/her mind out for once?

“Its very important to listen first, in order to be heard and appreciated by others”.

Everything comes down to the simple Funda of ‘Ego’. Whenever one hears a contradicting statement or for that matter a simple “NO” while they are trying to make a point, everything else goes down the gutter and the ego rides the machine.

How do you think that these eminent personalities, speakers and intellectuals convince so many people? Apart from being highly intellectual, one thing is common to all- they all are good listeners.

Many times you would feel that people are talking bullshit and wasting everybody’s time and need to be corrected. But then if you don’t hold your horses at that time and wait till one finishes, your point would not be appreciated at all. The World has become very judgmental. It will hardly take them a few minutes to think that ‘oh, this person thinks of himself/herself too much’.

I feel in today’s world, people have stopped being polite. They just want to make their point anyhow. How difficult is it to replace ‘NO, this is wrong’...
