What is it that makes our countries children so obese? A question that is sweeping the nation. As part of Michelle Obama's "let’s move" campaign she wrote a bill. What is that bill? It's the healthy, hungry-free kid’s act of 2010. This bill was passed to help cut down the obesity rate of children by making school lunches more notorious.

In order to make lunches and school a healthier environment for kids the healthy, hungry-free kids act was passed, this bill took all or almost all unhealthy foods or snacking options out of some schools (she's hoping for all of them). As well as changing school lunches around a bit, healthier alternatives to what they had been eating. It now mandates that kindergarten-5th grade lunches can only have 650 calories, 6th-8th can only have 750 calories and 9th-12th is only aloud 850 calories no more. This arrival mostly mentions how this new bill, the healthy, hungry-free kids act will soon make school lunches healthier and more nutritious. It also talks about how this bill will cut down on the amount of obese children in the U.S. Obesity seems to be a nationally growing epidemic, not just with children but with adults too. Everyone in this arrival "applauds first lady Michelle Obama's commitment to the children of our city and across the country". Being obese and or over weight is the number one medical reason for not being able to join the military. This bill is passed with hopes of bringing down the number if obese children and hoping to bring up the amount of nutritious food in the school lunch programs as well as at home along with exercise.
