The disadvantages of taking a temp to perm position is temp to perm workers make a little less than permanent employees do. This is due to agency charging the company a certain rate for your services and you’re paid a percentage of the bill rate. Another disadvantage is some agencies only offer benefits after you worked a certain amount of hours and the benefits will be limited and will cost you a lot for health insurance.

Generally temporary employees tend to have less training, lower payment, no stability and ambiguous job security as compared with permanent employees. The challenges a manager most likely to confront with a mixing of temporary and permanent employees are communicating with permanent staff to encourage them to make the temp employee feel comfortable.
