2. The advantages of taking a temp to perm position are that you have freedom to decide when to work and how long. Also, the flexibility of working a short term work assignments. You can explore different fields and acquire many new skills; this can help you build up your resume.
The disadvantages of taking a temp to perm position is temp to perm workers make a little less than permanent employees do. This is due to agency charging the company a certain rate for your services and you’re paid a percentage of the bill rate. Another disadvantage is some agencies only offer benefits after you worked a certain amount of hours and the benefits will be limited and will cost you a lot for health insurance.
Generally temporary employees tend to have less training, lower payment, no stability and ambiguous job security as compared with permanent employees. That is, they have no secure role, implied from their status, and only a low level of job security from their employing temp agency. (Marchetti-Group.it)

The challenges a manager most likely to confront with a mixing of temporary and permanent employees are communicating with permanent staff to encourage them to make the temp employee feel comfortable. Also, if a temp is there to replace a former permanent employee the permanent workers might resent the temporary worker making them feel not part of the team.
