At the Main Street Theater, the cashier, located in a box office at the entrance, receives cash from customers and operates a machine that ejects serially numbered tickets. To gain admission to the theater, a customer hands the ticket to a door attendant stationed some 50 feet from the box office at the entrance to the theater lobby. The attendant tears the ticket in half, opens the door for the customer, and returns the stub to the customer. The other half of the ticket is dropped by the door attendant into a locked box.

 What controls are present in this phase of handling cash receipts?

The Controls that I think are in the phase of handling cash receipts are:

Establishment of responsibility

Segregation of Duties

Physical, Mechanical, and Electronic Controls

Other Controls

 What steps should be taken regularly by the manager or other supervisor to give maximum effectiveness to these controls?

For a manger to give maximum duties to these controls the manger or supervisor should.

1. Hire an employee that you know you can establish the responsibility to be honest and fair to job of duty and the customers.

2. You the manger or the supervisor should examine how to attendant in the front window or the door clerk do their job. Examine both of their progress so all of these controls can be effective.

3. Review how many tickets were sold and count how many tickets are in the drop box physically. If one of these two add up. You are now suspicions on the employees.

4. The final control is very simple and yet kind of good to employees to do. The other control should be use in a movie theater. The reason is because if you give some vacation times to some of your employees some vacation time then they wont feel the will to screw the company over.
