America was always suppose to be a melting pot of cultures and as diverse as we are we have not really embraced every culture as openly as we should have. Things are more diverse now than ever before with many neighborhoods having a very wide variety of ethnicities, cultures, beliefs, and preferences. Some people still impede these changes out of fear and ignorance but yet we are becoming more mixed than ever. The most ubiquitous new thing I learned was White people are not really the majority any more, if you add up all the minorities they do out number us now and some races are just about all most as major as Caucasians in this country too. According the census racial groups such as Hispanics and African Americans treated as a minority once are having huge boom in population here. By the 2050 come around I would expect to see a lot more diverse country. By then I believe that African Americans and Hispanics will seen as having a lot more political importance and power which will lead to the government doing a lot more to help these groups feel happy. I all so believe that the current motion anti-racism and political correctness will continue to the point where racism mainly will be a thing of the past. As we become more diverse the country will face many changes some changes that might even scare or anger people. People will have to learn to be less judgmental, more willing to try new things, more open to diversity, more accepting of others, and more understanding of differences. Diversity has so many benefits that people will learn to enjoy if they just give it a chance. When I was a kid I used to play with these Israeli kids across the street and I learned about so many good foods, ways of doing things I did not know, and a lot of fun activities I never heard of. All that would have been lost to me if I never got the courage to meet and embrace them. Not to mention the great times and great friendship that came from it.
