This paper intends to give an overview of how the Brazilian Banking industry embarked in an all-out utilization of information technology and information systems to meet the needs of their clients in a thriving Brazilian economy. More specifically the paper will look at Banco do Brasil, the largest bank in Latin American in assets. Banco do Brasil is a Brazilian government controlled Bank. However Banco do Brasil stocks are traded at the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange (Sao Paulo is Brazil’s Financial, Commercial and Industrial Hub). It is the oldest Bank in Brasil. It was formed in 1808. At that time Brasil was still a Portuguese Colony.
