Debate of Universal Healthcare

The United States is in the debate of Universal Healthcare. President Obama has raised the question on what will happen with healthcare with his promise of guaranteed healthcare for all Americans. Allowing an organization that developed United States tax code handling something as complex as a healthcare is organized for disaster because there is not a single government agency that runs efficiently. When this debate was introduced it is in realization that when health insurance is made available to everyone it actually disrupts the Universal Healthcare system for most Americans.

The way they promote so called “free” health care makes many people believe that it will save them money when it comes to insurance. In all realization it actually is not free because we ourselves have to pay for it with taxes. When we have one person that is healthy and takes care of their body, they are going to be the ones that have to pay for the people that do certain things that breakdown the body. The government is already giving aid to people in poverty with in-kind transfers. If the government were to use the tax payers money for all people in poverty then there would be no incentive for one to get a job and be successful on their own. I feel that having free health care may lead to poor patient care because the doctors will have less flexibility.

If healthcare would readily be available to everyone there may be people that abuse the system because they are able to receive care from a doctor for free so they may go to the doctors as much as they want. This will increase the total cost several times more than what they are now. It will also put restrictions and raise expenses on fast-food, smoking, and drinking because they are contributors to poor health but this will lead to further loss of personal freedoms.

As an American we still have the opportunity to receive healthcare even if one does not have insurance. Having nonprofits...
