A greater presence in Kava is a challenge that EMSI is willing to take on. The decision to be made is what part of the company to move. EMSI is many call centers full of different departments and each department plays a vital role in the success of the company. EMSI must determine which department to send to Kava, management has made the determination that either the Agent Hotline department or the Brokerage department will go to Kava first. The objective of this paper is to apply a decision-making technique to identify the solution, to determine which team moves. Another objective is to give a description of the specific steps to select the correct solution. Finally, an explanation of the influences of the possible solution will be given.

Decision Making Techniques

The country of Kava is no stranger to the ravage effects of Mother Nature or how unpredictable the weather can be. By expanding business into Kava EMSI is risking money, supplies, and employees. The department that is chosen to move to Kava must have the ability to be flexible and adaptable. The agent hotline deals with insurance agents, insurance agents do not keep the usual hors of a business professional because they have to be available for the customer before, during, and after work. The Brokerage department deals with doctor’s offices they have more set hours. The doctor’s offices are usually open from eight a.m. to five p.m. and closed from noon to one p.m. for lunch. If the agents moving to Kava are going to have to keep these hours it will be a drastic change from what they are used to. Weighing the pros and cons for each department will give EMSI an idea of which department is a better fit for the move.
