Detroit Tigers Public Relations Internship

I am a creative public relations student looking for a possible internship with the Detroit Tigers to gain hands on experience of what it is like to work in the industry for sports PR. Public relations has always been an interest of mine, and I am also a fan of the Detroit Tigers. This will give me the motivation to do my best work because both of these subjects attract my attention very easily.

I feel that I will be able to fit the intern description because I understand what requirements are needed to be a successful PR professional. These requirements can be listed as having strong writing skills, being able to do research when needed, promoting campaigns, writing press releases, and understanding the ethics of public relations. I believe that I have accomplished the skills because I have had enough practices in my classes to prepare me for any real-world experience.

These classes I have taken at Central University have prepared me for the potential internship, and gave me the confidence that I know I can be the right candidate for the internship position. I am currently apart of the PRSSA organization at Central Michigan University. This stands for Public Relations Students Society of America, and it gives the students the general knowledge of public relations and to cultivate relationships between students and professional PR practitioners. This society has given me the knowledge and skills to feel that I am have a strong understanding of what is expected in the industry.

Working for the Detroit Tigers would not only be a great opportunity, but it would also be an honor. For my future, I hope to work in sports public relations, and this experience could prepare me for my job. Being able to complete an internship for a professional baseball team would not only better me as a public relations student, but also give me the drive to work harder into the career.
