When it comes to communication and behavior I could not choose better company to discuss than Starbucks. Starbucks was open in 1971, and it offered some of the best coffees in the world (Our Heritage, 2013). Starbucks goals are ”To inspire and nurture the human spirit-one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time.” (Starbucks Company, 2012).

This organization culture is about focusing on customer satisfaction. The employees in this organization trying to get customer feedback so the organization can provide higher value to the customers. The culture of Starbucks seeks to build close relationship with customers, and this leads to the building of a customer base. This organization also builds its culture by first training its new workers on ethics, ergonomics, safety, legal compliance, and hands-on-training. Positive effects of Starbucks culture are lower turnover rate of workers and improving the level of ethics the workers. This organization has used the strategy of empowering its workers and motivating them to actively participate in accomplishing the organization goals (Bussing-Burk, M, 2009).

Communication in Starbucks is very important and is done in the way that customer feedback is delivered to the management. Customers are priority in Starbucks, and it is the company strategy. Starbucks is well known for inspiring open communication between its workers. This communication is taken seriously and works suggestions are appreciated in the company.
