Process Evaluation's characteristics would be documentation and monitoring or program planning, impleelated program elements. This method employes qualitative and quantitative measures to review the effectiveness and appropriateness of program benefits. Staff questionnaires are used to collect evaluation data for planning, development, scheduling, activity execution, the appropriateness of curriculum, organizational administration and community and collaborative roles. This allows for modifications to be made wherever the process proves to be ineffective or inefficient. These evaluations also gather community and participant client satisfaction data to assist in the evaluation process. Staff recruitment, training and hiring practices are also examined. Planning, program development, equipment, overall client satisfaction, review of the target

group's needs, outreach efforts, management of case load and records and collaborative relationships for managed healthcare are all parts of this type of evaluation. These detailed reviews yield data that allows for complete analysis of costs and whether goals and objectives have been met.

Examples of Process Evaluation:

1. Elderly recipients or their family members complete a survey form to indicate if the Senior Program has assisted them with specific goals that needed to be met.

2. The Staff of nursing homes who assist the elderly with certain areas of the program complete questionnaires about the the program elements.

Outcome Evaluations examine the effectiveness of intervention. Strategies employed for intervention are examined to determine their effect on the target population over time. Pre-intervention and post-intervention data are collected. These evaluations yield information about program reliability and whether or not results are replicated.
