Some Sports Are Just Plain Old Boring

I love most sports. Most people in America love sports just as much as I do, or more. I think it’s because of the competitive nature that exists inside us. We love all kinds of sports. Regardless of it not being our favorite, we will watch the sports highlights of almost any sport on a news station on television. However, to sit and watch any sport through its entirety is a whole different issue. Some sports are so exiting that you wouldn’t want to miss more than a few minutes of the game; while others are just too boring to watch for more than a few minutes. Let’s take Basketball and Baseball for example. Basketball is a much more exciting sport to watch than Baseball.

There is so much excitement going on in at basketball game that fans wouldn’t want to miss a whole minute of it. It is a fast paced game that is played by some of the tallest men in the world. The average height of a player is an intimidating six feet and six inches tall. Watching these giants constantly running up and down the court displaying their speed, coordination, and leaping ability throughout the game is almost unimaginable. They can leap to heights that can only, if at all, be imagined by the average person which adds to the thrill of the game.

Baseball on the other hand does not have consistent excitement. Not to say that there is no excitement, just that there is too much dead time between thrilling moments. The game is played at a much slower pace than basketball. There is nothing special that stands out in the appearance of a baseball player: a player could be one of any size. Outside of playing the game extremely well, there is nothing that a baseball player does that the average spectator couldn’t imagine oneself doing at one time in their life.
