1. Yes. The candidate has sufficient skills and knowledge to adequately fill the position. Even if the candidate is the weakest of the three, in terms of knowledge or what so ever, I will take risk in giving him or her a chance to be in that position in our organization because I trust in my co-worker and you never know, maybe that person really wants to gain the position then became more knowledgeable and build skills more than the two candidates, so I will hire his friend. The purpose of interviewing the candidates is not just to know that they are intelligent, smart or skilled, but to know if he or she has the capacity to learn and to do all the works that will be assigned to them. Maybe the two candidates is just intelligent then don’t have the sufficient skills, you never know, maybe those two candidates are really prepared for the interview that’s why the one candidate became the weakest. There are many possibilities, so I will take risk.

2. I won’t do his favor. Instead, I will say to him to talk to our boss and say his valid reason why he is late. Explaining is easy, no one wants to be late just because of traffic, accident or like this car trouble of him, and I will never do that favor simply because it is not my job. There will be a possibility that he won’t pay four hours if he talks to our boss explaining with a valid reason. And it depends on our boss if he will accept that reason of him.
