Abstract

Globalisation, technology breakthrough, new ideas, new markets, new competitors make the environment move in constant change. Therefore Human Resource Management and Organisation Development need to act as an actualisation agent that keeps the organisation up to date to the constant changes of the business environment. What is more, HRM and OD must work together to direct the organisation in order to achieve its objectives. By going deep in to the core functions of HR the link to OD and its methods will be uncovered.

Human Resource Management focuses on the individuals to work together to accomplish the organisation objectives. By setting objectives HRM need to account on bearings such as the commitment that the employees feel for the organisation; the competent needed to accomplish goals; reduce personnel costs; create congruence between employee and organisation goals; promote adaptability to changes; encourage performance; create job satisfaction; and motivate the staff members.

The following activities related to HRM helps setting the organisation to a good performance:
