Warren Buffett

The public figure that I have selected is Warren Buffett.

In what ways is this person a leader? In what ways is this person a manager?

Warren buffet is one of the richest persons in the world. He started his life with small jobs and later on after working hard for more than 5 decades he is able to achieve significant success as a leader of his company and managed it in a way, which transformed the entire organization into a business magnet. Warren Buffett has motivated his employees to work hard in the organization and with the aim of achieving success for the company along with success for individuals working for Berkshire Hathaway (the company). He is a manager because he has been successfully managing the operations of the company since long time along with managing his stocks portfolio where he is acquiring profitable organization and expanding the operations of the business.

What different leadership roles and functions does this person fulfil? How are these roles similar? How are they different?

A leader needs to fulfil certain roles in order to continuously improve on his leadership qualities along with motivating the employees to work hard and achieve success for the organization. Some of the leadership roles fulfilled by Warren are as follows:

* He communicates with his team in order to built a strategy for the organization so that the overall objectives are achieved

* He creates vision, establish values and gives a direction to the organization which is the main responsibility of the leader so that everyone else can follow him

* Warren represents his organization all over the world and this is the work of a leader to represent his team.

What obstacles has this person encountered as a leader?
