Introduction

In Modern era, the society and the people had more awareness towards climate and environmental concern which is nothing but sustainability and social responsibility. Especially for mining company like BHPB, it is one of the biggest concerns to be responsible on CSR (corporate social responsibility). The company was then not to be concerned about corporate climate sceptic. Everything has changed in recent years due to the factor of time, political changes in Australia and its new government electoral statement is to improve the climate change in the country. Along with many other private sectors, BHPB decided to have its faith to climate change. This case study will explain about BHPB initiatives towards its climate change.

1.Please evaluate BHPB’s environmental stand from a sustainable international business perspective.

For sustainable development, BHPB realises carbon emission reduction by the corporation is very important business topic and also it has high relevance to the sustainable development. (BHPB,2014) The carbon reduction by any corporations has played a crucial role on the scientific/environment and also on the political level. The decision on the carbon emission has become electoral statements which decide the formation of the government and BHPB has also understood and started to participate and had taken steps to contribute towards the environment sustainability. (Mehra, 2013)

It is become an important topic for any corporates to reduce the carbon emissions for the sustainable development. Carbon accounting is now a days playing a crucial role on all kind of sectors such as environmentalist, scientist and also politicians. The fact is been now accepted by BHPB and they are using different variety of carbon accounting and practices.
