Audience Analysis

Today, while conducting global business, we have many technological tools accessible to us to help us effectively while communicating, presenting or conducting general meetings in the front of a larger audience. First and foremost, it is so important to be clear what kind of audience we are presenting to and then to customize our presentation accordingly. In order to do this effectively, we need to take in consideration the following: audience characteristic, communications styles, diversity of the audience, and the best tools for effective message delivery.

When we are taking in consideration audience characteristics and communication styles, we usually think about how are we speaking to, such us gender, age, education, years in the business of our audience, diversity, oral, nonverbal communication, etc. These are just some of the many different factors for the presenter to consider when making decision on which tools to use and how to conduct their presentation in most effective way. For example, if we have speaking to managers and CEO’s of the company in order to deliver important update, since they are very much informed and involved in the business, then in that case we should not go into great detail of explaining some of the basics of the business as if we are speaking to new employees.
