Reason for Existence

The creator of Kudler Fine Foods, Kathy Kudler, was dissatisfied with the selection and quality of her local grocery stores. To make a simple gourmet meal, she would have to travel to several stores in her area. Because of this, Kathy Kudler had a vision. This vision was to create one store that would stock a wide selection of the freshest ingredients as well as all of the tools a gourmet cook could ever want. With this vision in mind, Kudler established Kudler Fine Foods. Kudlers mission is to provide their customers with the finest selection of the very best foods and wines so that one’s culinary visions can come true. They stay true to this statement by purchasing top-of-line ingredients for all departments (Apollo Group, 2007).

Its bakery creates European style pastries and breads using no preservatives. The meat department has a wide variety of organic meats and seafood. The produce department carries more than 350 fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices, including a special Asian section. Gourmet cheeses in the deli are made from goat, cow, and sheep’s milk and they also have an extensive collection of both domestic and imported wines and spirits. Kudler also provides nonorganic items for those watching their budget. By bringing together many types of foods Kudler herself used, and at different price points, she established a gourmet food store that matched her vision, mission, and values. Her goal of opening this store was a success and Kudler Fine Foods has two other locations with a third location pending (Apollo Group, 2007).
