Abstract

Managers within an organization are key players in the overall day to day operations. Every functional are of the business be it Human Resources, Administration, or Marketing and Research have ongoing responsibilities to meet the goal and mission of the organization. Organizations may have many managers or just one, the duties may vary, but the bases are working for the benefit and profit of the business. Specific areas are responsible for supporting certain departments, and objectives. Functional areas are separate but work for the overall success of the organization. Each functional area requires strategic thinking on behalf of all managers to aid in the success of her or his department or area. The aim of functional areas is to make certain that important aspects of the corporation actions are carried out efficiently to meet the business goal and meaning.

Managers and Functional Areas of Business

In most organizations there are upper level manages and lower level management. In some cases a business dream may be small enough for one or two investors to make most of the operational decisions. It has been proven that a well organized thought out plan for a business will cause growth and bring the need of additional employees and more departments or areas. Once well established the business will have to take on a number of responsible employees to be the managers of each department or area. Each specific job or tasks will need managers to ensure the effectiveness of what is known as functions. It is the day to day functions the aid in the successful operation of the business and crucial to existence. In larger organization more often than small there are several departments; each department has to have managers. These departments are Human Resources, IT Data Security department, Marketing and Finance and in some businesses Public relations. For each of these there will be the need of competent management.
