The passion I have had for fashion since my youth has finally driven my decision to pursue a career change to the strategy side of the fashion industry, knowing such jobs are rare and in high demand. I am strongly determined to take a managerial position in the strategy department of an international fashion conglomerate in five years’ time post graduation.

As an intermediate step towards this goal, I would like to work for a top international management consulting firm such as McKinsey or BCG, where I want to progress to a below-partner level, thereby gaining additional leadership experience and strategic vision required for a corporate management position in strategy. The deep business exposure and extensive on-the-job training that major consulting firms provide will equip me with the appropriate tools for the next career step. After careful consideration including own research and first-hand experience of people in my international network, I trust my decision to use consulting as jumping-off point for my long-term career goal.

Years in consulting will provide me with extensive hands-on experience in business strategy across many industries and enable me to finally pursue my long-term ambitions. In fashion, I would like to contribute to my organization’s global growth by introducing existing brands to yet untapped markets and expanding the product portfolio with new brands or segments. My vision is to leave my mark on the fashion industry: As much as fashion continuously reinvents itself, I strive to be part of the reinvention of fashion business models! In addition, a position in strategy is closely connected to top-level management and is a great platform to advance further in the hierarchy
