A type of thinking style is emotional thinking which is the type of style most people use it is our basic thought process because it is based on life events and experiences. Many of us are inspired to do something or achieve some goal this inspiration that we get is based on some emotion we feel. When we create something such as art or music or any type of creative work that involve feelings it comes from our emotional side of thinking. When we add critical thinking into the emotional decision making process this gives us control over our feelings and lets us take charge of our thoughts and the actions that come from those thoughts. This helps us think through a situation instead of reacting to the situation because now we are going to use facts and information instead of feelings and emotions. Emotions and instinct are part of human nature that is instilled in each and every person. Wen-Yu Chao (2006) states the following about emotional thinking “Emotions and feelings are not logical, but it doesn't mean they are bad.

In our daily life we encounter the need to make decision based on critical thinking. The problem lies when we make decision without going to a critical thinking process. If a decision is reach without having done the necessary steps that among them are: setting aside your personal feeling about the situation, take into consideration both side if necessary, and weighting the pros and cons of the answer or decision about to be reach.

Decision-making is the process by which a person or group recognizes a choice, gathers information, analyzes the data, and determines the best option to choose. The decision-making process employs high levels of critical thinking skills and problem-solving techniques.
