GOVERNMENT POLICIES IN RESPONSE TO HIV/AIDS

A policy is a program of actions adopted by an individual, group or government. It can also be a set of principles on which actions are based.

The policies fall into two broad categories:

l. Guideline, administrative policy and practice that will protect human rights and on action oriented measures to be employed by governments in the areas of law, administrative policy and practice that will protect human rights and achieve HIV related public goals.

2. Principles of human rights underlying the positive response to the epidemic.

8. Participate in public and cultural life

9. Be free from torture and cruelty in human or degrading treatment or punishment.

INTERNATIONAL RESPONSES TO THE HIV/AIDS PANDEMIC

AIDS epidemic is a real development crisis that threaten the social and economic fabric as well as political stability of all nations, In response to the epidemic, countries and communities adopted various approaches to manage and control AIDS scourge. Some communities have made tremendous progress on care and support of both infected and affected . Other responses included:
