Scenario 1:

I am a marketing assistant that is in charge for setting up a trade show. Before setting up a booth, I should keep certain things in mind. I should keep in mind that I am responsible for all the equipment and components that are needed to be transported to the event. I cannot forget about all the components and equipment that were identified to be shipped to the trade show site have to be transported back to the home office after the show is over. The set up team, and I should remember at a typical show, we are responsible for more than a quarter million dollars of equipment. It is very important that we can handle any problems due to shipping damages or loss.

As a marketing assistant responsible for setting up a consumer electronic trade booth, the booth will contain various items such as Bluetooth speakers, Bluetooth headphones, laptops, cell phones, laptops accessories, and cell phone accessories. Each item has to be safely transported back to the company main office after the show is over. We should keep track of the items when shipping them back to home office by categorizing them in fields. It is necessary to categorize the items in the field because we are accountable for the security of all the items. Like items pertaining to a similar product such as a laptop and accessories, we can package together. Likewise, we can package audio such as Bluetooth speakers and Bluetooth headphones together. Packaging compatible items together are more feasible to keep up with for inventory. It makes transportation of the items a lot safer without incurring damages.

To effectively keep track of the components and equipment Microsoft Excel software is utilized instead of a database system. Although a database system is an excellent and a lot better system to use than Microsoft Excel, it is too costly for our operation.
