Abstract

One of the biggest issues in recent years has been the effects of global warming and the impact aviation has on climate change. The environmental impact of aviation occurs because aircraft engines emit pollutants, particulates, and gases which contribute to climate change. These concerns are highlighted by the present volume of commercial aviation and its rate of growth. The aviation industry has made some impressive strides to reduce the environmental impact of aviation. Most of the actions taken to reduce the impact the aviation industry has on the environment has been done voluntarily. The airline industry has worked hard to make a positive and successful impact on the environment.

One of the biggest issues in recent years has been the effects of global warming. Whether it is a real thing or not. Lately science has proven that there have been significant climate changes in the past few years. These concerns are highlighted by the present volume of commercial aviation and its rate of growth. In addition to the carbon dioxide released by most aircraft, the aviation industry also contributes greenhouse gas emissions from ground airport vehicles. Although there have been substantial improvements in fuel efficiency through technology and operational management, these advances are being continually obscured by the increase in air traffic.

The environmental impact of aviation occurs because aircraft engines emit pollutants, particulates, and gases which contribute to climate change. “The National Air Transport Association (NATA) outlined additional issues facing its members including de-icing fluids, airport issues, and gasoline lead levels” (Aviation Today, 2008). “Environmentalist are concerned about the growth of aviation on the environment, citing an FAA forecast that greenhouse gases (GHGs) from domestic...
