On Friday 3.10.2014, I attend a talk give by Mr. Lim representative of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Mr. Lim as a guest speaker gives a talk about “The Principle for the Application of Management Accounting”. During this talk, I learn many thing through issue rise up by guest speaker. From that issues, guest speaker give me many new knowledge and information.

First matter guest speaker rise up is about ‘question matter’. This new word I learn from talk session. Guest speaker encourage us as a student always think to get information and knowledge. One sentence I remember guest speaker specify during these talk is “When you think, you can get information and knowledge.” Thinking habit is a importance because our brain need stimulus to improve brain performance. So, thinking is act can stimulus neuron nerve in our brain.

Other than that, guest speaker also explain about self-questioning. What? Where? When? Who? Whose? How? is an example of self-questioning. According guest speaker, self-questioning habit is a one positive habit to student like us. In general, self-questioning can help us to improve decision making in our daily life. From self questioning, it can help to gain knowledge because if we always make a self-questioning, it can force us to search new information to solve that thing we questioning in our mind. As an accountant, knowledge and information is importance. For example, accounting standard always change over time. Thus, accountant should be alert with a new knowledge and information. So, accountants need to know a lot of thing from a small thing to biggest thing. To make sure we know the information, we need to ask. So, self-questioning is a best way to gain our knowledge.
