If I were Ricky Lee, The first thing I would do while preparing for my meeting with Bill Harmon would be to write out a list of the most important sections that need to be included in the writing of the procedures manual. I would also try to formulate what I think the finished product should look like in terms of length and professionalism. When I meet with Bill, I would want to let him know that this tasking will be his responsibility and that the finished product will be done by the month’s end. Next I would let Bill know that the formatting of the manual will be up to his discretion but the items that I wanted included must be in there as well as the general length and manner of the book. I would ask Bill if this is something that he believes is in his power to complete on time and to the quality of standard that I have put forth. I would also listen as Bill might have some concerns about some aspects of the task, such as his trouble with grammar. After Bill accepts the job, I let him know that I will be checking up with him weekly to ensure the manual is progressing and due to his concerns about his knowledge of grammar, we set a date three weeks into the task for a completion date, that way I have time to look it over and make any changes I deem necessary. When our meeting is complete, I let Anne Zumwalt know that Bill will be taking over the completion of the manual but I will have the final look over and the project will be completed by the month’s end.
