Social responsibility – I think my organization is more engaging with social obligations. The company does a few charity events such as MDA, St. Jude’s, and around Thanksgiving we will do Never Go Hungry. The way we participate is that they organizations will bring us the flyers to have our customers donate and we give back 20% to our customers for purchasing each flyers. Since we only do those three charity events I wish the organization I worked at did more. Every company has their own social responsibility, the company that I work for likes to only do a select few and nothing more. I wish they do more because it shows that they have areas that they believe in as well as want to participate in. With social responsibility a company wants to “show” their society that they do want to help and provide a better place, but only show it for certain things that they have sponsored for so many years. They do not want to do anything new, they would just rather do just what they think is required of them to do by “giving back” to the community. I think that my workplace could be more social responsible, by actually wanting to do more things that could provide a better society, and not just do what they think is the minimum that they should be doing. Being more socially involved can get a business out there and make an image that is favorable to the public because of the things they are “fighting for”.

When managing teams that are cross-cultured one has to look at each culture and figure out what the dilemma is.
