Security Considerations during Kudler Fine Foods Customer Loyalty Program Development

Planning: Kudler Fine Foods will need to manage the customer’s information cookies and Logfiles. The risks are losing the customer’s information, customer credit card information stolen, customer vital financial information stolen or unprotected Logfiles.

Analysis: Kudler Fine Foods’ database needs to be sure that the customer’s information that is stored on cookies and Logfiles are safe. Assess security of information stored:

Will the customer be the only one able to access the information?

How strong are the firewalls protecting the customer’s information?

Risk Assessment:

Identify security controls

Frequency of threats

Severity of threats

Input on Customer Loyalty Program

Design: Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP)

Address analysis of Kudler Fine Foods and train employees so that they have the information, skills, and tools they need to address and diagnose a problem and be able to take care of it.

Implementation: Integrate a DRP to the system and employees. More training to ensure the implementation is running smoothly.

Maintenance: Monitor the DRP and make sure that firewalls and/or antivirus software are updated and functioning properly. Address any faults to the Logfiles in order to keep cookie information safe.

Removal of System: In the event that Kudler Fine Foods removes the Customer Loyalty Program, all the information from the customers and vital account information stored on Logfiles and cookies will have to be disposed of as well as the hard drives to ensure complete removal and safety.
