Abstract

The progress of an organization in supply chain management, transportation and logistics are potentially based on its ability to move and trade goods. Historically, there have been a system of movement to transport good from one place to another. As time pasted there was an evolutionary and revolutionary changes that brought the system to a more modern and sophisticated means that firms implemented to manage the system. In the improvement of the system, it has been structured to have individuals that are the leads or heads of departments of an organization. There have been appointed supervisors, managers and leaders that hold positions and titles to oversee the tasks to be completed. However, there have been resent studies that have proven to effectively and efficiently use teams or groups as the operating system without one individual being the structured front-runner. Work teams, Self-governing teams, self-directed work teams and manufacturing cells has transitioned into the logistics as a viable asset for firms to utilize.

The research illustrates and identifies the organizational culture as a means to transition the firm. The process of initiating work teams into an organization is discussed in detail; thus, rendering an analysis to bring improvements in the transition. The purpose of the study is to validate the link between team performance and supply chain management. Also, to determine if work team will survive in the supply chain management. Method for the research study includes analysis studies and detailed review to include research proposed in various studies related to the various work teams. Results based of the study will support a higher execution and implementations of the various teams as they improve or sustain the economy, improve time and cost also to improve logistics in the future.
