Information Graphics

Information graphics also referred to as info graphic is a visual representation of information and data to the audience (Cairo, 2012). Information graphics helps to express complex data and information in a simpler and easier way that can be understood quickly by use of words and pictures. Information graphics is usually used in learning institutions to help students in understand huge amount information which is summarized using graphical representations with the word explanations (Cairo, 2012). As a member of Cengage Learning, I have been assigned the duty of designing online resource for teachers that will contain information graphic about social media.

Social media have become of the learning tools for students. Survey has also shown that students like to learn through the use of social media. Social media helps students to connect, communicate and share information with their teachers. Additionally students use social media to communicate and share information with other students. The most used social media are social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ Linked, Pinterest, Whatsup etc. and bloggers website.

Why Students Like Social Media Information Graphics

Survey has shown that American youths most of them who are students spend about ¼ of their online time in social networking site and blogs. Initially, people used to connect to social media using their computers with wired internet. However, the trend is changing in the modern world since there is increased use of mobile phone to connect to the internet due to its mobility. Survey has shown that the use of mobile phone to connect to social media will super pass the use computers by the end of this year.
