Responsibility: My Life Changer

Right after high school, I hit a rebellion phase. I was homeschooled during my high school years and very sheltered. My grandparents raised me and they kept me from reality. I didn’t have prom, they didn’t teach me about boys, drugs, alcohol, or anything to prep me for real life. When the time came to make a decision on a college, I chose the biggest party school in the area with the best dorm rooms. I had no sense of reality and no intentions of even attending class. Two colleges later, I found a dead end job and moved back home. Needless to say, I still had so sense of reality. I didn’t save money, I lived from one paycheck to another, and I didn’t have any plan on what I wanted to do with my life. February 2013 is the day that my life changed. I found out I was pregnant and I realized that someone else would be depending on me for everything. At that moment, I knew I needed a plan.

During my first trimester life smacked me in the face. I put way more on my plate at one time than I should have. I enrolled at The University of Phoenix for my Associates in Health Care Administration. I found a full time job as a supervisor at a packaging plant. I loved my job and I was passing all of my classes in school. Once I entered my third trimester, things got harder for me. I ended up leaving my job and I was on bed rest the remainder of my pregnancy. With no job and a baby on the way, I had to come up with a way to generate some sort of income. I immediately began searching google for legitimate ways to earn income from home. I came across information on product testing, paid surveys, and data entry. Eventually, I started taking paid surveys online, which generated a nice amount of income. I still do this now, I use 5 different sites and generate about $300 a week in extra income.
